Lorem City Guides started in 2015 as a weekly email from two food writers in Hyderabad. Ten years on, we publish across four cities with a team of 24 writers, and we still visit every place we write about.

Evenings by the water

Hussain Sagar and Necklace Road fill up after sunset, with food carts, boat rides and the Buddha statue in the middle of the lake. Durgam Cheruvu and its cable bridge are busier on weekends. More in our Hussain Sagar guide.

Heritage after dark

The sound and light show at Golconda Fort tells the story of the Qutb Shahi kings against the fort walls. See our Golconda guide.

Crafts and markets

Shilparamam in Madhapur runs a permanent crafts village and regular cultural evenings. Laad Bazaar near Charminar is the place for bangles.

Music and comedy

Concerts and stand-up shows move between venues in Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Gachibowli and HITEC City. Book early. Most weekend shows sell out by Thursday.

For families

Lumbini Park has an evening laser show and the Nehru Zoological Park is a good half day with children.
