How ikat works
The threads are tied and dyed before weaving, so the pattern appears as the cloth is woven. It takes days to prepare a single saree.

Buy from weaver cooperatives or directly from weavers. Ask to see the loom.
History
Pochampally is also known as the place where the Bhoodan land-gift movement began in 1951.
